Collaborative Family Law

Collaborative Family Law

Collaborative Family Law is an alternative approach to Traditional Family Law with the objective being to not involve the courts in the process. Our attorneys are trained and certified to handle Collaborative Law Cases. The expected premise in a Collaborative Law case is that all participants agree to work together respectfully, honestly and in good faith. Complete trust between the parties is usually a prerequisite to participation in the Collaborative Process. No one may go to court, or even threaten to do so, as long as they are participants in the Collaborative Process.

In the Collaborative Law process there is no method to enforce deadlines and no method to enforce disclosure requirements. In the event that a party feels the Collaborative Process is not working, the process terminates, and each spouse must hire other lawyers and experts to proceed and achieve resolution.
