Ms. Nieto has had the privilege of practicing in the areas of civil, family, criminal, probate and immigration law. She has served as first and second chair in various bench and jury trials in different venues around Texas. She now joins the Law Office of Becky Beaver and brings with her a diverse set of skills, apropos for the all-encompassing practice of family law. Ms. Nieto is passionate about the law, its complexities, but most importantly, her clients and their success.
Born in Juarez, Chih., Mexico, Ms. Nieto moved to Texas in the early 2000s. Here, she graduated with honors from the University of Texas, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Government with a concentration in Immigration Studies. After graduation, she spent a couple of years working in the title insurance industry. She then moved to Ithaca, New York, where she attended Cornell Law School and obtained her Doctor of Jurisprudence. During her law school career, Ms. Nieto clerked at the White House under President Obama’s Domestic Policy Council and the Dallas Immigration Court. She also served as a Senior Editor of the Online Cornell International Law Journal, an Associate for the Cornell Legal Information Institute, and a legal research assistant for Professor Stephen Yale-Loehr. She received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for Dispute Resolution Practicum. Ms. Nieto has held various community leadership positions within the League of United Latin American Citizens and has worked for Amnesty International’s Migrant and Refugee Rights Initiative and American Gateways. She is a Bill Archer Fellow and National Hispanic Leadership Institute alumna.
Ms. Nieto enjoys swimming, yoga, and spending time with her family. She spends her free time studying theology and (often too much of that time) following the news.
